JAMMU, Feb 16: A review meeting of Horticulture Department and Horticulture Planning and Marketing Department was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, Commissioner/ Secretary, Agriculture at the conference hall of Directorate of Horticulture, here today.
The meeting was attended by Director Horticulture Jammu, Anil Sharma, Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, J&K Showkat Ahmed Zargar besides Deputy Director Horticulture (Central) Jammu, Chief Canning Instructor Jammu and all Chief Horticulture Officers of different Districts of Jammu Division.
The Commissioner/Secretary had a detailed review of different Centrally sponsored and State sector schemes with Chief Horticulture Officers of different districts of Jammu Division viz-a-viz physical financial achievements made till date.
While deliberating on the expenditure made by District Heads, Samoon instructed all to gear up the field functionaries and put in their best to achieve the targets during the remaining part of the financial year while keeping in view the requirements of the field.
Special emphasis was laid on increasing the production of planting material in nurseries and focus on high density plant material by way of adopting improvised mechanization techniques on latest lines.
Tapping of natural water sources on priority was advocated for achieving success.
