JAMMU, May 28: Sangram Sena (SS) has demanded installation of statue of Mehar Chand Mahajan, the first Prime minister of J&K State, at Mehar Chand Mahajan Chowk.
The demand was raised during a meeting of executive body members of Sangram Sena held here today under the chairmanship of Ram Rattan Raina, president of the Sena.
Addressing the meeting, Ram Rattan Raina said that due to the efforts of the Sena, the Old Janipur Chowk leading to High Court complex, Jammu has been named as Mehar Chand Mahajan Chowk and now we appeal the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh to install a statue of Mehar Chand Mahajan at Mehar Chand Mahajan Chowk.
The meeting also discussed various development projects of Jammu like renovation of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and Cable Car project.
