SRINAGAR, June 13: In the ongoing Annual Inter-Battalion Sports Meet being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police to mark the Raising Day of J&K Police, lady Sub Inspector Sanjeevan Jyoti of IRP 17th battalion and Selection grade constable Krishan Lal of JKAP 8th battalion bagged gold medals in 300m shooting event for women and men respectively.
Dysp Regzin Sandup of JKAP-12th and lady constable Hamida Nabi of JKAP-12th battalion were adjudged runners-up in these events.
In Kabaddi, JKAP 7th defeated IRP 9th Bn by 4 points, IRP 20th drubbed JKAP 6th by 4 points and JKAP 14th thrashed IRP 17th by 34 points in a one-sided affair.
In Handball, IRP 9th Bn defeated JKAP 7th while JKAP 6th outplayed IRP 7th Bn.
In Basketball, JKAP 13th Bn defeated IRP 4th while JKAP 6th emerged winner by defeating IRP 13th Bn.
The volleyball teams of JKAP 6th, JKAP 5th, JKAP 13th and IRP 6th Bn emerged victorious by defeating IRP 11th, IRP 3rd, IRP 4th and IRP 9th respectively.
In 1500m athletic event, Ct Krishan Lal of IRP 3rd Bn finished first while as Ct Muzaffer Ahmad of JKAP 7th and Ct Khushi Ram of IRP 4th Bn finished second and third respectively. In Short-Put, Ct Manzoor Ahmad of IRP 7th secured 1st position while as Ct Arshid Ahmad of IRP 19th and Ct bagged 2nd position.
In Weight Lifting (Men) 56 kg, Lal Hussain of IRP 11th bagged first position while as Ct Kulbir Singh of IRP 3rd Bn won 2nd position. In 62 kg weight category, Ct Mohd Afroz JKAP 13th Bn secured 1st position while as Ct Shori Lal of IRP 4th stood 2nd. In 69 kg, Ct Harish Sharma of JKAP 7th Bn and Ct Mushtaq Ali of IRP 18th Bn secured 1st and 2nd positions respectively.
In 77 kg, Ct Gh Mohiudin of JKAP 5th and SI Ankush Jyoti of IRP 19th secured 1st and 2nd positions respectively. In 85 kg weight category Ct Nitin Kumar of IRP 19th and Ct Milan Kumar of JKAP 9th were adjudged 1st and 2nd respectively.
In 48 kg for women, Ct Sangeeta Koul of IRP 15th and Ct Shakeela Bano of JKAP 9th secured 1st and 2nd positions respectively. In 53 kg weight category Ct Mehnaz Abdullah of IRP 18th and Ct Komal Koul of IRP 15th secured 1st and 2nd positions respectively. In 58 kg weight category Ct Shallu Devi of IRP 5th Bn and Ct Rukhsana Begum of IRP 15th Bn were adjudged 1st and 2nd respectively.
The winners of different sports events held at five venues across the city were awarded medals at the closing function of the day.
