JAMMU, Apr 1: To recall the services of renowned King of Kashmir Maharaja Lalitaditya and Vaidyaraj Shree Bhat, Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra held a function at Kheer Bhawani Asthapan, Jagti today.
The office bearers of the Kendra, besides social activists and Jagti inmates attended the function in which floral tributes were paid to these two veterans who have brought great of glory to Kashmir.
Shiban Khaibri a freelancer and a social activist was the chief guest on the occasion. While paying tributes to these two luminaries he highlighted the role of Shree Bhat in 15th century who with his wisdom and courage managed return of exiled Pandits to Valley and made their rehabilitation possible during the reign of Sultan Zainulabdin.
He said the birthday of Shree Bhat also coincides with the Vijay Diwas of Maharaja Lalitaditya of 8th century. Mr Khaibri, while recalling the bravery of Maharja Lalitaditya said he was the first King of Kashmir who spread his kingdom to Central Asia and constructed the historical Suriya temple of Mattan. The function was presided over by Maharaj Krishan Koul a social activist of Jagti while D N Raina general secretary of Kendra gave brief about its functioning.
