JAMMU, Dec 9: A grand congregation was organized at Marh Bagh under the patronage of Sant Tejwant Singh, Dera Mukhi Sant Pura Danna and a large number of devotees from across J&K participated in it.
The congregation was organized for dedicating the newly constructed building of Gurmat Vidyalya Educational Research Centre (GVERC) to the community.
A handout stated that GVERC aims to provide free CBSE education for class 6, 7, 8 and 9 along with religious studies and knowledge of holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib to the students.
The research centre’s vision is to foster eminent Parcharaks and research scholars focusing on the Sikh ideology of ‘Manas Ki Jaat Sabe Ek Pehchanbo’ and oneness of mankind.
Rich tribute were paid to the missionary zeal of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Ji Danna for spreading education along with spiritual knowledge.
“Following footsteps of Sant Gurbaksh Singh, the present Dera Mukhi, Sant Tejwant Singh established the Educational Research Centre along with hostel facilities for free education (formal as well as religious studies) to boys from underprivileged section of the society.
Ragi Jatha’s of S. Jagtar Singh, S. Jagir Singh, S. Davinder Singh and children of SGSD International School managed by Sant Pura Danna Charitable Trust recited Shabad Kirtan.
S. Manjit Singh, general secretary and S. JP Singh, president of the Management Committee of Vidyalya gave details of the project and S. Balvinder Singh, vice president DGPC Jammu; S. Ranjit Singh Tohra, president DGPC Jammu; S. Surjit Singh, general secretary DGPC Jammu; S. Tejinder Singh, S. Harjit Singh, S. Avtar Singh, S. Ranvir Singh and S. Karan Singh-all DGPC Jammu members appreciated the efforts of Sant Tejwant Singh for such a wonderful gift to the community.
S. Sukhraj Singh, Head Granthi, Gurudwara Bath Sahib was deputed by S. Harjinder Singh Dhami, president SGPC Amritsar to attend on his behalf as he couldn’t attend due to unavoidable circumstances.
