JAMMU, Aug 30: In the meeting of the office bearers of Sant Rocha Singh Trust, S Saroop Singh general secretary of the Trust has voiced his grave concern over the inordinate delay in granting permission to the members of the Sikh community desirous to conduct tour and pilgrimage of Dera Deri Sahib, Rawalakote Peral now in PoK.
Mr Saroop Singh said that a telegram in this respect has already been sent to S N Krishna, Minister for External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi whereby a demand for permission to have darshan of the holy shrine through Chaka-da-Bagh via Poonch Rawalakote route has been made and Government of India has granted permission from this route whereby the permission from Pakistan side is still awaited.
Mr Saroop Singh has urged Mr Krishana, to take up the matter with Government of Pakistan on priority basis so that the necessary permission may be accorded to the members of Sikh community by the Government of Pakistan.
Kundan Sharma, president Peoples Secular Forum J&K has supported the cause of Sant Rocha Singh Trust. He said that India is very generous in granting trade permission cum permission to Pakistani nationals who come via Chaka-da-Bagh area to India to go beyond J&K State while the Government of Pakistan does not permit Indian citizens of J&K State to even conduct tour of their religious places in the country.
Further this will aggravate the issue and send a negative message all over the country. Others who attended the meeting included Harjeet Singh, S Harmeet Singh, S Tarlok Singh and Sadhu Ram.
