UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: Sapna Sharma, a student of Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) was adjudged best speaker under senior category in an Inter-School symposium on “Youth and Communal Harmony”, organized in the premises of GGHSS Udhampur here today.
The symposium was organized by District Information Centre in collaboration with Youth Services and Sports Department in connection with the ongoing week long campaign on Communal Harmony and National Integration.
As many as 18 students drawn from various schools including GHSS (Girls), GHSS (Boys), GHS (Girls), , GHS, Battal-Ballian, and City Middle School, participated in the contest under senior and junior categories and put their view on the topic.
District Education Planning Officer, Ved Parkash was the chief guest of the occasion.
Safeer Hussain of Government Higher Secondary School Boys and Vagisha of Government Girls Higher Secondary School stood 2nd and 3rd respectively in senior category. Similarly, Vanishka, a student of GGHSS, Jyoti Devi of GHSS Udhampur and Kamini Kumari of Government Central Middle School secured first, second and third positions respectively in junior category.
Information Department also distributed prizes and certificates among the participants of the contest.
District Youth Service and Sports officer, Sukhdev Singh, Principal of the Host School, Rashpal Singh, District Youth Coordinator (NYK), Sayed Sajad, student and staff members were also present.
