JAMMU, Apr 26: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Ghulam Mohammad Saroori (MLA) has demanded another All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for Chenab region and asked the Government to do justice with erstwhile Doda district.
While addressing party workers from Doda-Kishtwar area Mr Saroori said that despite getting 25 seats from Jammu region, the ruling party has done injustice with the Jammu people by allowing transfer of AIIMS to Valley.
“We are not against Kashmir valley but we want justice with Jammu especially with Chenab region as earlier an impression was given that AIIMS has been sanctioned for Jammu”, he said asking Centre to provide justice to the Jammu region.
Saroori said, “We brought two Central Universities in J&K and five Medical Colleges and now it is BJP’s turn”, he said and asked the BJP MLAs to compel the Union Government for sanctioning another AIIMS to J&K which should be established in district Doda or Kishtwar.
The Congress MLA also expressed concern over the non-availability of basic facilities like ration, drinking water, proper health care facilities, shortage of teaching staff in local schools, non-payment of MGNREGA payments, SSA salaries, non-repair of electric transformers etc.
Saroori claimed that his main aim is to provide better basic facilities to the people, particularly living in rural areas. He said road connectivity, potable drinking water, hassle free supply of Ration, health and education facilities would be improved further in these areas on priority.
Later, Saroori also visits GMC & Hospital Jammu and met with various patients from district Kishtwar and Doda.
