KISHTWAR, June 21: In a significant achievement for the remote area of Thakrie in Kishtwar, JKPCC vice president and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today kick started work on blacktopping of 6 km long road from K K Road to Shanna, which will be constructed by PMGSY Department.
Saroori, who is on an extensive visit of the district Kishtwar and Doda, also addressed series of public meetings at Pakalan, Daramwagan, Mangthalla, Hadat Pura, Shanna areas of Thakrie.
While addressing the gatherings, Saroori said that road connectivity to hilly, far flung and rural areas are the prime requirement for their growth and development. He said most of the population living in hilly areas of Inderwal constituency has been connected with road connectivity and the work on various road projects was going on at pace.
Maintaining that peace in the area has enabled him to focus on the developmental activities and carry on the infrastructure developmental projects in a time bound manner, Saroori said that he as a MLA has taken each and every step to maintain peace and tranquility across the Inderwal constituency irrespective of caste, color, region or religion.
He announced Rs 7 crore for construction and maintenance of road from Shivnagar to Sarawan and Rs 4 crore on road from K K Road (Km 9th) to Darbadhan, which will solve all the problems of general public of Thakrie areas.
Saroori stressed on RDD officials for better co-ordination for the overall development of the Thakrie block. He asked for early clearance of all the liabilities and also laid stress on the involvement of all stakeholders in the planning process. He enjoined upon the officers to make every effort so that benefit of various schemes reaches down to all the population.
Officials of various departments, senior Congress leaders Mahinder Singh Parihar, Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, Captain Jagdish Raj, Mohd Saleem, Shahnawaz Hussain, Mohd Hameed, Sharwan Singh, Ronak Singh, Kashmiri Lal, Mohd Yusuf, Farooq Ahmed, Mohd Shafi, Rakesh Singh, Abdul Jabbar, Bashir Ahmed, Noor Din, Tariq Hussain, Mohd Shamasdin, Nishat Hussain, Abdul Latief, Nafees Ahangar, Kartar Singh, Gulab Singh, Mohd Abaas, Mohd Rafiq Shah, Ghulam Mohd and people in large were present on the occasion.
