JAMMU, Nov 24: A Sarpanch was booked for assaulting a minor boy in Brij Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, members of NGO Saksham Samaj Sankalp approached police station Miran Sahib and lodged a complaint against Sarpanch Pawan Raina of Brij Nagar for forcing a minor boy namely Gabbar (13), son of Basu, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, at president Brij Nagar into domestic work.
The members of the NGO also stated that the Sarpanch use to beat the minor boy on petty issues.
Taking cognizance of the complaint, Miran Sahib police got the medical examination of the minor boy done and also initiated legal action against the Sarpanch.
