MENDHAR, Dec 15: Sarpanchs from Mendhar block held protest outside the office of BDO here today.
The Sarpanchs came to know about the visit of ACD Poonch to this Block office during the day and staged protest. They were demanding inquiry into the illegal withdrawal of Rs 5 lakh by the RDD staff against the works performed in Lower Darana Panchayat Halqa. They alleged that a lady staff member and another managed to withdraw the amount without the knowledge of Sarpanch Ch Zaffar and even his fake signatures were put on the papers to manipulate the record.
They demanded inquiry into the matter and action against the erring staff. They also submitted a memorandum to the ACD and SDM Mendhar in this regard. They had also staged protest at `Shahidi Yadgar’ Mendhar yesterday in this connection.
