REASI, May 15: Sarpanchs and Panchs have condemned the statement of Panchayat Conference regarding en-mass resignation of Panchayat members and stated that no member of panchayat in the district is associated with statement of so called Panchayat Conference.
They reaffirmed their commitment and resolve to work for masses of their panchayats and development of respective areas.
An all party deputation of Sarpanchs called on Deputy Commissioner Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal and apprised him of the wrong and baseless statement issued by Panchayat Conference and its self-styled president without any knowledge of Panchayat members of the district.
They informed DC that Panchayats are actively working as per their mandate without any fear or favour. The deputation demanded lodging of an FIR against Panchayat Conference for this misleading statement.
DC assured the deputation that their stand will be projected before the Government and action as warranted under rules shall be initiated against anyone who hampers the functioning of elected Sarpanchs and Panchs in district.
Meanwhile, District Administration has clarified that all 145 Sarpanchs and 1015 Panchs of the district are functioning as per their mandate and have informed their resentment against news being spread about their resignation.
