400th Prakash Utsav of Mata Roop Bhawani

JAMMU, Feb 16: In connection with observance of 400th Prakash Utsav of Mata Roop Bhawani, Alakh Sahiba Trust Talab Tillo Jammu solemnized a Maha Yagya and held a painting competition at Mata Roop Bhawani temple, Tirath Nagar, Talab Tillo here, today.
The day started with the recitation of Beej Mantra in which noted scholars and culture propagation activists participated. In view of pandemic the Yagya was performed purely on Vedic scriptures invoking teachings of Mata Roop Bhawani the Sharika incarnate. It was part of year long celebration of 400th Prakash Utsav organised by Shri Alakh Sahiba Trust (SAST)”. SAST is celebrating the year long festival online mode by conducting various webinars across the world. Noted scholars and students from different universities, colleges and institutions participated in the webinars, essay competitions, musical and cultural programmes.
Live streaming of such programmes was done from different parts of India and abroad which also include the Taposthals of Mata Roop Bhawani at Manigam, Waskur, Chashmashahi, Laar and Janam Bhoomi at Dhedmar, Srinagar.
In continuation of above yearlong festivity, for which a special committee known as Prakash Utsav Celebration Committee has been framed by the Trust which constitutes of very senior devotees, scholars and civil society Gokal Dhar.
The theme for painting completion was Har Ratri – the Vatuk.
The best three in each section were judged by the national reputed Artist Veer Sumbli. They were awarded with trophies and prizes besides the merit certificates. All the participants were awarded with participation certificates.
The historical, religious and cultural background of the Gouri Tritya, the Har Ratri, the Vatuk and the Shiv Ratri festivals were explained by Sanjay Raina the well known culture protogonist and scholar.
Social activist Dr. Sushil Watal and Judge for the competition Veer Ji Sumbli and scholar Sanjay Raina were felicitated by Ashok Dhar, president, SAST, Gokul Dhar , convener, Prakash Utsav Committee, S K Khashu , Kuldeep Dhar, B.L.Jalali , Raj Kumar , and Anil Dhar. Bitu Raina, general secretary of the organization conducted the programme.
