POONCH, Oct 13: Making a fervent appeal to the border people of the State to remain vigilant and get united to fail Pakistan designs, BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma said that Indian Army and para-military forces are strong enough to give a befitting reply to the neighbour country on borders but it becomes the duty of the civilians to identify the internal elements and help to crush them so that peace and social tranquility is not disturbed.
Sat Sharma was addressing the gathering of border people, along with State Secretary Dr. Narinder Singh and MLC Vibodh Gupta, during his two days visit to the border areas of Poonch district.
Sat Sharma said that Pakistan has been creating problems in Jammu and Kashmir for decades and the worst affected have been the people living on borders. He said that the unprovoked firing and shelling from across the border causes loss of lives, property and livestock. Many times it compels the people to migrate from their native places. This time also border people from some areas have been displaced and accommodated at safer places.
Sat Sharma said that BJP is deeply concerned for the safety and security of the border people and the local administration has been directed by the Government at the Centre and in the State to ensure that every kind of help is provided to these people. He assured the border people that their grievances are being regularly taken up with the Central Government and every effort is made for early return of border people to their homes and hearths.
Dr. Narinder Singh said that Pakistan has never kept its promise of maintaining peace on borders while India made every effort to take lead in pursuing the neighbour country to act honestly but all in vain. He expressed hope that the normal life in border areas will soon start and people take on their day to day activities in a peaceful environment.
Vibodh Gupta said that the border people can approach any leader of the party in their respective area in case of any emergency or non-cooperation from the administration.
Accompanied by the local leaders of Poonch district, the BJP leaders visited Jhulass village to meet the displaced people, held meeting at Banpat village organised by Muslim Morcha, attended District Working Committee meeting of Poonch district with Sat Sharma delivering presidential address. On their way back to Jammu, they had meeting with prominent workers and leader of the party at Rajouri.
