JAMMU, Oct 23: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) kick started construction works for Shiva Multipurpose Community Hall at Janipur Colony.
The funds for construction of hall were sanctioned from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of former MLA  during his tenure and the work was delayed due to code of conduct of elections and other reasons. It was taken up in hand soon after the process got cleared. The works will be executed under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 5.28 lakh.
Sharma was accompanied by Corporator, Ward 37, Sunita Gupta, JMC officials, local residents and political activists of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the hall once constructed can be used by the locals for many things. He said that earlier there was no proper accommodation for performing Ram Leela in the Ward but after the construction of hall, many things will be sorted out and there will be a proper place for performing such things which hold religious importance in our culture. He stated that besides that the locals can also use the same for performing other functions as well including small get together, meetings and that too at a very nominal price which can be afforded by everyone.
