JAMMU, May 5: To undertake more developmental works for the welfare of the public of Jammu West, BJP MLA Sat Sharma (CA) today held a series of meetings with JMC (Jammu Municipal Corporation) Commissioner Soujanya Sharma and officials of the department. The MLA also met the officials of PWD (Public Works Department) and apprised them of the problems faced by the public and stressed upon a speedy solution to the problems of people.
The MLA also toured Ward 30 and 31 falling in Talab Tillo area with JMC Commissioner and officials of JMC also accompanied the MLA during his visit. He also reviewed the system of Sanitation, maintenance of street lights system and the problem of Lanes and drains of the area.
During his meeting his JMC Commissioner, Sat Sharma (CA) stressed upon the renovation of Shakti Nagar Shamshan Ghat and said that it has been under a very bad condition from a very long time and it’s been used frequently by public so there becomes a dire need to renovate such valuable spot. He said that sitting arrangements and toilet facility including bathing facility for women and rain shed should also be provided in Shamshan Ghat.
Sharma also suggested the JMC Commissioner that the vacant land of JMC at Main Stop, Janipur should be used for a Air Conditioned Mall with underground parking with escalators in order to promote the agenda of development in the Constituency which will also help young entrepreneurs to become self employed.
During his meeting with PWD officials, Sharma said that the funds for construction of various roads have been approved by Central Government and within a due course of time the work for these projects will be taken over by PWD. He also gave the details of roads to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rupees 20 crores approximately including Shakuntla to Mian Deedo Chowk, CPO Chowk to Mian Deedo Chowk via Ambphalla, Main Bakshi Nagar road to Pawan Ice Cream via Maheshpura Chowk, Jewel Canal Road, Canal Head to Toph Bridge via RRL, Rehari Chungi to Patoli Chowk via Sarwal, Rehari Chungi to Toph Chowk via Subash Nagar, Indira Chowk Subash Nagar to Shakti Nagar via Shiv Nagar, Paloura Chowk to Patoli Chowk, Patoli Chowk to Toph Bridge via Toph Chowk, Paloura Chowk to Jaggi Darbar, BSF Gate Paloura Chowk, Janipur-Ambgharota road km 1st to 4th and links, High Court Road, Link Road to Lakker Mandi, Link Road to Bhawani Nagar, Janipur Chowk to Janipur Colony, Janipur Ambgharota Road km 5th and 6th and Janipur Road from Fish Market to Ram Leela Ground.
