JAMMU, May 7: Giving a major push to infrastructural development in Jammu West Assembly segment, State BJP president and MLA Sat Sharma started developmental works at Sharika Vihar area of Ward number 32.
The development works included construction of a proper channelized system of drains and deep drains in the area, as the area suffered a lot in the rainy days due to lack of proper system to channelize the flow of water in the areas and water mostly entered in the premises of the local residents.
Accompanied by a large number of people, Sharma started the works in the presence of UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) and JMC (Jammu Municipal Corporation) officials.
The works were recommended by the MLA to the concerned departments in order to overcome the problem of thousands of local residents and it will be taken up under the supervision of UEED and JMC under AMRUT scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 4,10,00000. The total area covered under the same will be 20.71 hectares.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it is indeed a major step and one more feather is added in terms of development in Jammu West Assembly segment. He said that earlier local residents faced major problems in the area which won’t be a problem anymore as these works will surely improve the infrastructure in the locality.
He said that people have to be eyes and ears of their representative in every nook and corner and wherever there is a dire need of taking up developmental works should be informed at instant so that works could be taken up in the area.
He stated that all 26 wards of the Assembly segment are on his priority list and almost every ward is completed with more than half in terms of development and in coming times every ward will bloom as most developed wards of any city in the State.
