JAMMU, Oct 5: Satchel, Centre for Promotion of Music, Art and Languages, in collaboration with Gandhi Peace Foundation organized 3-day workshop on the topic “Gandhian concept of integration of craft with education”.
The workshop began with Gandhiji’s popular bhajans sung by Anshu Bhat, Saraswati Rathore, Anu Devi and Nikita Manhas. In the 1st session, a painting competition was organized while the next session began with presentation of skills by the students namely Lokesh Raina, Arun Kumar, Adyan Pandita, Suran Devi and Shilpa Bali.
The session was supervised by Sarita Raina who also spoke about the philosophy behind Gandhiji’s concept. Aryan Pandita, Prince Sharma, Tanvi Arora, Anurudh Arora and Akriti Sharma presented their write ups on different aspects of Gandhiji’s life. The highlight of this session was a pictorial representation on Gandhiji’s life by Vineet Gupta, which was appreciated by one and all.
Patron of Satchel, RK Mahaldar, spoke about Gandhian concept of non-violence and its relevance in the present world. The participants were also awarded certificates by Dr Seema Rohmetra, the local coordinator, Gandhi Peace Foundation.
The programme concluded with the pledge of fulfilling the Gandhiji’s dream of “Swachh Bharat’.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Krishna Katyal, Anupama Bhat, Shashi Bala, Amita Mattoo, Vandana Bhagat and Naina Razdan.
