JAMMU, May 28: Satish Kumar, Puneet Wattal and Aman Singh slammed splendid half-centuries to help Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar register a huge win by a margin of 196 runs over Centurion Cricket Club to advance into the next round of the Salute and Tribute T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Parade Sports Association at Parade Ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, RCC openers Satish and Puneet began in style and struck galaxy of boundaries from the word go in a big partnership of hundred odd runs. Both the batsmen struck shots with fluid grace and utter brilliance. After their brilliant partnership, it was Aman Singh who butchered the rival bowlers with his power-packed unbeaten knock of 57 runs off just 24 balls to guide the team to a mammoth total of 227 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 2 wickets in the process. For Centurion Club, Shiva and Shantanu claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Centurion Club bundled out for a paltry total of 31 runs in 14.1 overs. None of the batsman could manage to score in double figures. Venus, Aman Singh and Dilbagh Singh scalped 2 wickets each for RCC Srinagar, while skipper Kuldeep Kumar, Puneet Wattal and Rahul Mussa claimed one wicket each. Aman of RCC Srinagar was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant all-round show.
The match was officiated by JD Singh and Amit Sharma as umpires, while Sunny and Dr Karan Nayyar did the duties of scorer and physiotherapist respectively.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) will take on NYCC at the same venue.
