Satwari zone wins Inter-Zonal U-17 Boys Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, May 17: Team effort helped Pavit Singh Ishar-led Satwari zone to outplay Bhalwal zone by 6 wickets to lift the title trophy in the District Level Inter-Zonal Under-17 Boys Cricket Tournament, which concluded at MA Stadium, here today.
The Tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of its Director General, Navin Agarwal.
Earlier, batting first, Bhalwal zone managed to score a meagre total of 92 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Aditya Uppal top scored with 28 runs, while Sandeep Sharma and Anmol contributed 16 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For Satwari zone, skipper Pavit Singh, Surgan, Vivrant and Sunil claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, Satwari zone chased the target in 16.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Jagjit top scored with 36 runs off 31 balls, studded with 5 magnificent boundaries, while Nitish and Vivrant contributed 17 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Pavit Singh chipped in with valuable 10 runs. For Bhalwal zone, Karun bagged 2 wickets, while Sandeep claimed one.
The match was officiated by Pankaj Sasan and Madan Mohan as umpires, while Jagtar Singh was the scorer.
