Saurabh meets LG; discusses Harmony India Awards, support for J&K artists

JAMMU, Sept 23: Renowned vocalist and music composer, Saurabh Zadoo, met with Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, here, today to discuss the upcoming 10th edition of the Harmony India Awards. Scheduled for November 2024, the event promises to be a grand celebration of Sufi and traditional music, with new inclusions that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region.
During the meeting, Zadoo shared his vision for this year’s Harmony India Awards, highlighting ongoing developments and upcoming features that aim to make the event a landmark occasion for artists and audiences alike. He also emphasized the need for policies that would provide greater nourishment and support to the artists of Jammu & Kashmir, enabling them to preserve and promote their unique art forms.
Zadoo took the opportunity to present a special edition copy of his recently composed devotional music to the Lieutenant Governor and received appreciation from LG Manoj Sinha, who expressed his support for the upcoming event and acknowledged the efforts of the Harmony Cultural Foundation in uplifting the region’s art and culture.
The 10th edition of the Harmony India Awards will celebrate the spirit of Jammu & Kashmir, recognizing artists across various fields and providing a platform to showcase the region’s diverse cultural legacy.
Saurabh Zadoo is a celebrated vocalist and music composer from Jammu & Kashmir, known for his contributions to Kashmiri folk music and Indian classical traditions. He is the founder of the Harmony Cultural Foundation, which has been organizing the Harmony India Awards since 2014 to honor artists, musicians, and cultural practitioners across India.
The Harmony India has presented the awards to many celebrities since its formation in J&K. The recipients included the prominent personalities in the fields of art, culture, education, journalism and politics.
