JAMMU, Aug 12: Former Minister, Yogesh Sawhney along with the X-En and AEE of the UEED Department and officers of flood department visited Rajeev Nagar to take stock of the problems being faced by the inhabitants.
Sawhney gave on spot directions to the concerned officials to resolve the problems whatsoever being faced by the inhabitants of the locality due to the main nallah commencing from the university phase, which had been diverted towards Rajeev Nagar, resulting into a pool like situation in the locality on every monsoon season.
The former Minister directed the concerned officials to make over a fine grating at the end of nallah so that any unwanted foreign material could not enter the locality and a pacca pond at the place of pumping station, so that the strained water be drained out easily.
He also gave directions to the UEED Department to make a plan for the diverting of nallah at Rajeev Nagar towards Bikram Chowk and assured the public that he will leave no stone unturned for the relief of the general public.
Vijay, RamPal, Pawan Dev Singh, Srikant, Rajinder Kumar, Ram Magotra and other persons of concerned locality were also present.
