DODA, Nov 16: Sazan Eleven clinched the final of Dessa Premier League Trophy by defeating Trishul Youth Club Mangalthata (TYCM) by 5 wickets at Sports Stadium, Dessa here.
The Tournament was organized by Amity (Mentor) Youth Club Dessa Doda in collaboration with 10 RR (Rajput) Doda.
Earlier, after winning toss and batting first, TYCM scored a total of 96 runs in 15 overs.
In reply, Sazan Eleven chased down the winning target in just 11.1 overs by losing 5 wickets.
Saqib of Sazan Eleven was declared as man of the match for his superb all-round performance, while the man of the series title was bagged by Shammi of Trishul Youth Club Mangalthatha.
Commanding Officer (CO) 10 RR Col Sunil Mishra was the chief guest on the occasion, while SHO Police Station Dessa was the guest of honour. Principal GHSS Dessa, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area were the special guests on the occasion.
Later on, Rs 7000 as cash prize was presented to the winners by chief guest CO 10 RR, out of which Rs 3000 was given by 10RR and Rs 4000 by Amity Youth Club, while Rs 3500 was given to runners-up team (Rs 1000 by 10 RR and Rs 2500 by Amity Youth Club).
Rs 500 was given by CO 10 RR to the man of the series award.
President, Amity Youth Club Dessa Hitesh Rajput honored the chief guest and other guests with memento and shawl.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest lauded the efforts of organisers for organizing such big event in this hilly and backward area of the district and laid stress on participation of rural youth in sports activities as well as district and State level tournaments.
