SRINAGAR, Oct 19: Spring Buds Educational Institute (SBEI) Ompora today held its annual Cross Country Run, drawing impressive participation.
Over 500 runners, including both boys and girls from various age groups, showcased their determination and sportsmanship on the challenging course.
Saif Ud Din Bhatt, the local MLA, was the chief guest, accompanied by DySP HQ Budgam Saquib, Mohammad Shafi Qurashi, Chairman of SBEI Ompora, and Shahnawaz Shafi, Principal of SBEI.
The chief guest emphasized the importance of physical fitness and perseverance, inspiring both young and experienced athletes.
During the opening ceremony, he remarked, “Events like these not only promote health and wellness but also strengthen our community bonds.”
The 4 km run, which started from the new approach road to the Railway Station and ended at Spring Buds Educational Institute, saw participants navigating scenic routes while being cheered on by enthusiastic supporters.
The event aimed to encourage healthy lifestyles and foster a sense of camaraderie among participants.
The organizers noted that medals and certificates were awarded to the winners in various categories, “while all participants received a certificate of participation, ensuring that everyone left with a sense of achievement.”
