JAMMU, Jan 19: Sidhant Cricket Academy defeated Axil Cricket Club by 21 runs in the final match of the Col R N Chopra Under-16 Boys Challenge Cup 2014-15 at IIIM-CSIR ground here today.
Earlier, Axil Club won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, Sidhant C A scored a decent total of 173 runs in19.5 overs. Muneeb was the top scorer with 51 runs, while Pavit Singh and Anshuman contributed with 43 and 28 runs respectively. For Axil Club, Anmol took 4 wickets, while Harman 2 and Abhinav claimed one.
Axil Club, in reply scored 152/9 in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 21 runs. Kanhaiya was the top scorer with 70 runs, while Sahil Lotra contributed 10 runs to the total. For Siddhant C A, Prince took 4 wickets, while Pavit Singh took 2 wickets. Muneeb of Sidhant C A was declared man of the match. The best bowler award was given to Abhinav of Axil and best batsman to Pavit Singh. The best fielder award was bagged by Prince of Sidhant C A. Man of the series award also went to Pavit Singh of Sidhant Academy.
Prizes were distributed by the chief coach of Col R N Chopra C A, Sukomal Ganguly.
The matches were officiated by the assistant coaches of the Academy, Deepak Dogra and Akash Manhas.
