JAMMU, Apr 1: Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor (U-14) defeated Green Field Champs (GFC) Jammu by 7 wickets in the first match of their 3-match series at Govt Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, here today.
Green Field Champs Jammu, winning the toss, chose to bat first and scored 135/5 in 25 overs. Chaitanya Dogra contributed 34 runs off 51 balls, Rajveer Singh made 44 runs off 63 balls and Japjaap Singh added 25 runs off 22 balls. Jatin Radha of Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor was the standout bowler, taking 2 wickets, while Amrit Lal claimed 1 wicket.
In response, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor chased the target, scoring 139/3 in 19.2 overs. Yuvraj made 42 runs off 43 balls, Raghuveer Singh scored 30 runs off 33 balls and Jatin Radha played a vital knock of 31 runs off 22 balls. Akash added 17 runs off 18 balls. Green Field Champs Jammu’s bowlers, Adil, Radhey Thakur, and Angel Thakur, each took 1 wicket.
Jatin Radha was named the Man of the Match for his all-round performance. Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor now leads the series 1-0.
