JAMMU, Jan 17: Splendid 50 runs knock by Talha Ashraf coupled with good bowling display by Umar Aand Khalid Khan helped Striker Cricket Club (SCC) Rawalpura to trounce KCSC Junior XI by a narrow margin of 20 runs in the ongoing KC Sports Club Winter Cup, being played at KC School ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Striker Cricket Club scored a fighting total of 139 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Talha and Umar contributed 50 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Talha was in awesome touch and hit the ball with fluid grace and utter brilliance. For KCSC Junior XI, Ritham, Rocky and Devats Sharma scalped 2 wickets each.
In reply, KCSC Junior XI managed to score 119 runs in the allotted overs to lose the match by 20 runs. Kasif Ayoub was the top scorer with 47 runs, while Zamin Zahid contributed 27 runs to the total. For Strikers XI, Umar and Kahalid took 2 wickets each.
Talha Ashraf was adjudged as man of the match for his magnificent innings of 50 runs.
The matches are being conducted by the Club, with an objective to provide opportunity to young cricketers to fine-tune their cricketing skills and hone their talent.
