SCC thrashes FCC by 4 wickets in APL final

JAMMU, Mar 23: Singh Cricket Club (SCC) won the title trophy of Akhnoor Premier League (APL) T-20 Cricket Tournament by thrashing Friends Cricket Club (FCC) in the final match played at Army Ground, Daskal (Akhnoor), here today.
After winning the toss, FCC decided to bat first and gave the opposition team a target of 148 runs to win at the loss of 7 wickets. For FCC, Shobnam Sharma was the highest run scorer with 44 runs while Aman Jamwal and Bunty Jamwal also contributed 39 runs each to the team’s total. For SCC, Rohit Gupta scalped 4 wickets while Sham Singh Langeh and Sahil Sharma took one wicket each.
SCC easily chased the target in 17.3 overs at the loss of 6 wickets and thus, won the match by 4 wickets. Rahul Mulan scored 50 runs for SCC while, Rohal Koul made 38, Sahil Sharma 17 and Rohit Rajput 14. For FCC, Abhinandan Sharma scalped 4 wickets while Jeshu and Chikku shared 1 wicket each.
Rohit Rajput was declared as Man of the Match for his brilliant performance with both bat and ball.
Vikas Bali and Vinod Kumar were umpires of the match while Shubham Sharma acted as scorer.
The Tournament was organized by Indian Army under Operation Shadhvavna, under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh (Zonal Head Divyang Cricket Control Board of India) and Ravi Kumar (organizing secretary).
Deputy SP KD Bhagat (chief guest of the match) along with Sanjay Saraf (ex-president, Municipal Committee Akhnoor) and Surinder Sharma (ex-president, MC Akhnoor) distributed prizes among the players.
An exhibition match was also organized for Gujjar-Bakerwal players. Cricket kits and cash prizes were awarded to winners and runner up teams.
