JAMMU, Dec 17: GGM Science College defeated Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua by (2-0) in the Inter-Collegiate Tennis (Men) Tournament, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at University, here.
In singles, Rohit Bhat trounced Ankush by (8-2), while in doubles the duo of Rohit and Rahul Bandral got better of the pair of Ankush and Pushp Thakur by (8-3).
In another match, SPMR College of Commerce got walkover from MAM College.
The tournament is being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education. University of Jammu, under the overall supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr Vinod Bakshi, Nisha Sharma, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Meena Gupta and Dr Sonam Angchok.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid and Gagan Kumar.
