POONCH, Aug 26: District Institute of Education and Trainings Poonch organized a one day Science Exhibition under the ‘INSPIRE’ (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) Award scheme at DIET premises here today.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch M H Malik was the chief guest who inaugurated the exhibition.
The aim of the Exhibition was to boost the moral of young budding scientists and to provide them a platform to show their scientific talent.
DC Poonch along with Chief Education Officer Poonch A H Fani and education officers inspected the models displayed by the students.
A jury of 3 members visited each stall to evaluate the exhibits to select top three district-level award winners.
As many as 74 models were displayed at the one-day exhibition. Many of the exhibits reflected the innovation and hard work. Most of the stalls dealt with subjects such as production of electricity from waste, conservation of energy, solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and protection of environment.
Some of the students designed models for avoiding accidents and saving lives.
A H Fani readout the annual progress report of DIET Poonch and gave assurance that he and his team will leave no stone unturned to upgrade the standard of education in Poonch district.
DC Poonch, M H Malik said that students have a great potential but they need special attention for their fine tuning which only teachers can provide them. He appeal to the teachers community to be serious in their duty for the betterment of education system.
GHSS Bufliaz Secured 1st, GHS Jhullas 2nd and GMS Bela Chandak secured positions.
