BHADARWAH, May 4: Demanding better medicare at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bhadarwah and posting of all the specialist doctors against the vacant posts, Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SSDS) Bhadarwah and Anjuman-e-Isalamia Bhadarwah (AIB) threatened to hit streets if the demands are not fulfilled soon.
At a joint press conference in Bhadarwah on Saturday, AIB and SSDS supported by different political parties including CPI, JKNPP and JDS rued the paucity of doctors at SDH Bhadarwah.
AIB and SSDS presidents Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh and Ved Kumar Kotwal respectively condemned the Government for premature transfer of doctors and for not filling the vacant posts since long.
They demanded filling up of vacant posts of specialist doctors especially Anaesthetic, Radiologist, Gynaecologist and ENT at the earliest and also calling back the doctors who had gone for long leave immediately after joining SDH Bhadarwah.
“This is pathetic on part of the Government in General and Health Department in particular that instead of filling the vacant posts of specialists, they transferred recently posted specialists to GMC Doda without providing any replacement, due to which poor patients have no other option but to rush to Doda or Jammu for treatment,” said president SSDS Bhaderwah, Ved Kumar Kotwal.
“We at SDH Bhadarwah are facing paucity of doctors as against 34 sanctioned posts only 13 doctors are posted at the hospital,” said Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh, president AIB.
