*ASHC wins inaugural match

JAMMU, Apr 15: Shree Sanatan Dharam (SD) Sabha High School, old Rehari today dedicated its ground to the game of Handball.
On the occasion, an inaugural exhibition match was played on the newly developed facility by the Arun Sharma Sports and Social Welfare Trust. President Shree Sanatan Dharam Sabha J&K Parshotam Dadeechi was the chief guest of the event.
Among the guests of honour were Dr Akshay Sharma (Corporator), Om Parkash Kesar (School Management Committee) and Angrez Singh (International Handball player and ex-Services Captain).
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said, “The young team of the Arun Sharma Sports and Social Welfare Trust has been doing a great job for the development of sports with main focus on the game of Handball”.
He said it was the Trust, who approached the management committee of the School for developing the ground into a regular training centre and they had no hesitation in extending a helping hand. “Today we are happy that young boys and girls are learning the basics of the game of Handball under the guidance of coach Bachan Dogra and his team on a regular basis,” he added.
Accompanied by member trustee of Arun Sharma Sports and Social Welfare Trust Ashutosh Sharma and other senior Handball players of J&K as also guests, Parshotam Dadeechi presented the title trophies and other individual prizes to Kargil Martyrs Handball Club Udhampur and Arun Sharma Handball Club– the teams playing in the exhibition match. The match was won by Arun Sharma Handball Club (ASHC) Jammu making it 33-23 against visiting side of Udhampur.
Distinguished guests also honoured promising young Football player and one of top goalkeepers of J&K, Nirdosh Sagotra for bringing laurels to the UT. Former J&K Bank player, Nirdosh recently joined the AG Office Football team.
