JAMMU, May 12: Virender Gupta, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chowki Choura along with his Revenue team distributed the sports materials amongst the voracious students of Govt. Middle School, Chowki Choura, here today.
While distributing the sports materials, the SDM exhorted all the students to play open-heartedly during recess/games period(s) and appealed to their sports teacher to identify the skill of such students who can excel in sports.
It was widely conveyed that shortly a sports meet amongst all the schools of the Sub Division Chowki Choura will be conducted and an emphasis was laid to make the interested students to exhibit their talent.
During the visit, a review of the Zonal Education Office, Chowki Choura was also taken, whereby the staff was found engaged in distributing the text-books amongst all the Govt. Schools of Sub Division Chowki Choura. A visible smooth functioning in the Office of Block Development Officer, Chowki Choura was also witnessed.
It gives immense pleasure to inform that a Jan Aushadhi Centre inside the premises of 24×7 Sub District Hospital, Chowki Choura is very shortly going to be opened to facilitate the poor dwellers of the area.
Later, in the evening, a “naka” was laid by the Sub Divisional Magistrate at Chowki Choura Check-Post, and a penalty of Rs.4500 on-the-spot was imposed to punish the defaulters for not wearing crash-helmet/seat-belts and having dis-obeyed the traffic norms.
