JAMMU, May 10: SDM Chowki Choura, Virender Gupta along with Dr. Raman Jandyal, Tehsildar conducted a public meeting at Panchayat Ghar Gangaal and listen grievances of PRI members as well as inhabitants of villages Narrah, Bain Lehar, Chagyal, Kadyaal, Gangaal, Fagal and Latheri.
The officials of PWD, PDD, Jal Shakti, Agriculture, Food & Civil Supplies, Rural Development Department and Revenue accompanied the SDM to ensure on the spot redressal of the grievances.
During the meeting PRI members raised issues like shortage of potable water in Gangaal and surrounding villages and demanded that the dug well at Gangaal should be made functional.
Issue of lack of road connectivity in village Fagal was also raised and the demand to complete the PMGSY road from Tanda to Kapiayan-di-Baan was made over which the SDM sought a detailed report from the representative of PMGSY Department.
Frequent power cuts and low voltage in villages Gangaal, Narrah and Chang was also highlighted along with the issue of lack of mobile connectivity.
Another issue raised was that of construction of a link road from NTPHC Gangaal to Government High School, Gangaal via Panchayat Ghar and in this regard the SDM directed the AEE PWD to prepare a DPR.
The issue of monkey menace and irrigation scheme at Gangaal along with the demand of repair of Chowki Choura to Kathaar Road was also raised.
More issue raised on the occasion included construction of a Community Hall at Gangaal, boundary wall for NTPHC Gangaal.
The SDM listened to all the issues and instructed the concerned authorities to ensure that the public may not suffer anymore.
