Leh, Apr 19: A meeting was convened by Ravinder Kumar, Secretary, Youth Services & Sports today to discuss the redesigning of the Ice Hockey Rink at Leh in UT Ladakh.
The consultant gave a detailed presentation on the update of what all work has been done till now and the latest design on the upcoming international standard Ice Hockey Rink in Leh. Secretary was informed that the design of the Ice Hockey Rink was prepared in 2008.
Secretary was informed that the roof span of the Ice Hockey Rink has been changed from 32 mtr to 52 mtr and the sitting capacity has been increased from 3000 to 3600 as per the latest design.
Talking about the architecture of the Ice Hockey Rink, Secretary asked the consultant to blend the traditional and contemporary architecture while designing. Secretary further directed the consultant & department that the roof work should be completed by October this year at any cost.
He also asked the consultant to submit the latest design with the changes within two weeks.
Secretary was informed that the sitting arrangement for the Ice Hockey Rink in Kargil is 550 and he asked Kargil to increase the sitting arrangement. He added the officials from Kargil to revisit with the consultant work & to complete it by this year.
Secretary further informed that for the multi-sports complex they are planning a master plan for the whole stadium. The consultant further informed that they have updated all the structural designs.
