JAMMU, Apr 27: A huge rush of budding cricketers was witnessed at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bakshi Nagar as the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu Zone organized the selection trials of Under-14 and Under-17 cricketers at this venue, here today.
The trials were inaugurated by Principal of the School, Shashi Thappa in presence of conveners of the selection committee, Roopali Slathia and Mohd Farooq, besides members Satpal Singh Manhas, Satika Sharma and Madan Mohan.
The selection panel will pick the Jammu zone team in two days trials, which will participate in the forthcoming Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournaments.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Thappa threw light on the significance of games and sports and urged upon the players to participate in more and more sports activities for better health.
