SRINAGAR, May 30: A seminar was organized today on various TDS provisions at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh, Lal Chowk, Srinagar by TDS Wing, Srinagar.
The seminar conducted under the guidance of Parmeet Sachdeva, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, NWR Chandigarh, was held for the drawing and disbursing officers related to Education Department falling under the jurisdiction of Chief Education Officer, Srinagar. The seminar was started at 11:30 A.M and concluded at 1:30 P.M.
Near about 130 DDOs were present on the occasion. Main issues and problems related to TDS provisions faced by the DDOs in hard area like Kashmir were discussed and stress was laid on timely filing of e-TDS quarterly statements in form 24 Q and 26Q. DDOs raised many queries regarding AINs allotted to them but not in use, deductions regarding claim of House Rent Allowance, interest on Housing loan, Section 80 D, 80DD, 80DDB and 80U.
