KARGIL, Oct 24: District Legal Service Authority/District and Sessions Court organized one day seminar on “Rights of Women and Protection of Women from Domestic Violence”.
The programme was presided over by the Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Authority Ashok Kumar and Sub Judge Sankoo Chemiek Yougail was present as guest of honour. Besides lawyers and district officers, large number of women folk and employees especially from Social Welfare and Health Department were also present on the occasion.
Public Prosecutor Manzoor Khan presented the welcome address and briefed the importance of the programme.
While speaking, Chemiek Yougail elaborated the constitutional provisions and acts in place for protection of women from domestic violence and women rights in the Indian Constitution.
Ashok Kumar in his speech stressed the participants especially female employees of Social Welfare Department to participate in such progammes in future.
In the end, Public Prosecutor Manzoor Khan presented vote of thanks.
