Semis lineup drawn in 6th Pawan Memorial T20 Tourney

AKHNOOR, Nov 4: Semifinals position has been cleared in the 6th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament as the hosts Singh Cricket Club was the last team to enter the last four stage by defeating DCC Jammu in a low scoring affair at Government Higher Secondary ground, here today. The other three teams, which qualified for the semifinal stage included Street Warriors Akhnoor, New Challenger Cricket Club Jammu, Krishna Nagar Cricket Club, Jammu. Earlier, in the last quarterfinal, Singh Cricket Club thrashed DCC Jammu in an easy contest by 9 wickets. Winning the toss and batting first, DCC Jammu bundled out for a paltry total of 79 runs in 14.1 overs. Pawan Singh and Deepak Magotra scored 16 and 11 runs respectively. For Singh Club, Rajesh Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief, scalping 5 important wickets, while skipper Sham Singh Langeh took 3 wickets. Pankaj Verma and Sumit Rajput claimed one wicket each. In reply, Singh Club reached the target easily in 6.1 overs by losing just one wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Sunil Sharma and Sumit Rajput contributed 43 and 32 runs to the total respectively. For DCC, Mehta took one wicket. Rajesh Sharma was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling display. The match was officiated by Sagar and Rajat as umpires, while Lucky was the scorer. The tournament is being held under the supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, president Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor.
