JAMMU, Apr 29: Semifinals position has been cleared in the ongoing JU’s Inter-Department Tournaments 2013-14 at University ground and Gymnasium hall, University of Jammu, here.
The Tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Earlier, in volleyball men, Mathematics Department beat SHTM in straight sets (2-0) by (25-13, 25-17) and Physical Education Department drubbed Law School (2-0) by (25-13, 25-23).
In carrom women, Mathematics Department drubbed MCA Department by (2-0).
Neetu Devi beat Sonam, while Heena outplayed Akshma.
In table tennis men,The Law School beat Economics Department by (3-0).
Anurag got better of Moninder by (11-8, 11-7), Abhinav beat Rajesh Singh by (11-2, 11-3) and Karman prevailed over Sakti by (11-2, 11-6), while in another match, SHTM Department beat Mathematics Department by (3-0).
Shubham Gandral beat Gourav Prashar by (11-4, 14-12), Shaukat Ali defeated Mukesh Sharma by (14-12, 4-11, 11-8) and Wasim Ahmad beat Samandeep Singh by (11-4,11-6).
The matches were officiated by Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar and Vikas Karlopia.
Others present at the venue were P D Singh, Jai Bharat and Nisha Sharma.
