Semis lineup drawn in U-19 boys kho-kho, kabaddi

JAMMU, Sept 20: Semis position has been cleared in the Divisional Level Inter-District Under-19 boys Kho-Kho and Kabaddi Tournament, which got underway at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today.
The teams which have qualified for the semifinals in kho-kho included Rajouri, Doda, Udhampur and Samba, while the teams which have entered semifinals in kabaddi included Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur and Samba.
As part of Annual Calendar of Activities of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
Dr Swaran Singh Chib, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Reasi and Mohd Ayaz Khan, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Rajouri were prominent among those who witnessed today’s matches.
Among others present on the occasion were ZPEO’s Sarita Pandha, Manorama Sharma, Pushpa Sharma and Jeet Singh.
Earlier, in kho-kho matches, Rajouri thrashed Kathua by one turn and 4 points and entered the semifinals, Doda crushed Jammu by one innings and one point, Udhampur trounced Reasi by one innings and 8 points and Samba outplayed Poonch by one inning and one point to qualify for the semifinals. In the earlier matches, Reasi outclassed Kishtwar by 6 points and Poonch beat Ramban by one inning and 8 points.
Meanwhile in kabaddi under-19 boys, Reasi beat Ramban by 4 points and Samba trounced Kishtwar by 26 points in league matches, while in quarterfinal matches, Jammu defeated Kathua by 11 points, Reasi outclassed Poonch by 4 points, Udhampur prevailed upon Doda by 8 points and Samba got better of Rajouri by 9 points.
About 250 players drawn from all ten districts of Jammu division participated in the event.
