KATHUA, Feb 7: Senior BJP leader from Basholi and State Working Committee Member of the Party Ved Mankotia passed away today at Jammu after a cardiac arrest.
An activist of RSS he was a social worker and popular figure in tehsils of Basholi and Bani.
His cremation was performed this evening at home town Basholi. A large number of people and BJP activists attended his funeral procession. They also paid rich tributes to departed leader.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh and MLA Bani Jeevan Lal termed his demise a great loss to the State and party. They said Mankotia was a selfless worker who throughout his life worked for the people and propagation of nationalist ideology.
