Senior Division Football League Tournament NGR trounces Sainik Colony by 2-1

JAMMU, Oct 19: NGR Football Club got better of Sainik Colony Football Club by two goals to one (2-1) in the Senior Division Football League Tournament, being organized by the Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
Earlier, Rashpal Singh gave Sainik Colony Football Club an early lead by netting a splendid goal in 7th minute of the match. However, NGR club players came back strongly and scored an equalizer in the 25th minute. Finally, a self goal by Sainik Colony Club in 58th minute helped the NGR team to increase the lead by one more goal to win the match by the same margin by (2-1). Both the teams played superbly, but the blunder in the dying moments of the game by Sainik Colony players made them to pay.
In another match scheduled for the day, Vijay Club got walkover against Jammu United to cross the second ladder as it already had one win at its back.
The match was officiated by Kamal Kumar, Harmanjeet Singh, Sanjay and Saudaghar Mattoo, while the tournament is being organized under the supervision of Surinder Singh Bunty, organizing secretary of the tournament.
Param Football Club will take on Mussa Club, while Young Heroes will face Churchill Brothers at the same venue tomorrow.
