MUMBAI, Dec 23: The 30 scrip index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) advanced today by 79.33 points to 21,159.05 in the opening trade following gains in Bankex, Realty, Power, MeTal and Consumer Durable stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE), moved up by 31.70 points to 6,305.95.
Barring IT and Technology stocks, all other sectoral indices kept the equity market firm for the second day today.
The gainers were Hindalco Industries by 3.11 pc to Rs 122.80, BHEL by 2.63 pc to Rs 169.90, Axix Bank by 1.98 pc to Rs 1302, Hero MotoCorp by 1.72 pc to Rs 2164 and SSL by 1.33 pc to Rs 205.50.
The losers were Infosys by 1.84 pc to Rs 3486.90, Tata Power by 0.77 pc to Rs 89.90, HDFC by 0.66 pc to Rs 794.80 and TCS by 0.47 pc to Rs 2109.50. (AGENCIES)
