JAMMU, Aug 6: BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi distributed certificates among the winners of Inter State Power Lifting Championship during an impressive valedictory function, organized by Fitness First Gym at Pacca Danga, here today.
The event was held under the supervision of Preet Dutta, Chief coach of the Gym.
Power lifters took part under different weight categories and the winners included Pankaj Verma and Sunny Wazir in 93 kg category, Vishal Kohli under 83 kg category, Rohit Singh Jamwal and Kewal Kumar under 63 kg category and Miss Rama under 53 kg category.
Congratulating the winners, Yudhvir said that such events not only boost the morale of the sportspersons, but also develop a sense of consciousness about health, adding that in the present era youth is getting addicted to drugs and the Gyms and allied institutions help them not to derail from the mainstream.
While appreciating the efforts of Preet Dutta in running a Gym in the heart of the city, where there are no play grounds and parks for the people, Mr Sethi said that such Gyms prove beneficial for the people, especially the sports lovers.
