Seven injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, May 30: Seven persons were injured in separate road accidents in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, two men identified as Riaz Ahmed and Mohd Aslam, sons of Mohd Saiz and residents of Chassana, were injured late last night when an Alto car bearing registration number JK20-9651 in which they were going on, was hit by a rashly driven truck (with registration number JK02AG-9569) near Barnai bridge on Jammu-Akhnoor road.
Another mishap occurred tonight at Jandrah in Jhajjar Kotli area, where a speeding auto rolled down the road. In the mishap, two occupants of the auto namely Babbu (38) son of Amar Nath and Balwant Singh son of Chamel Singh, both residents of Janipur (Jammu) got injured.
An unidentified male pedestrian of age about 55 years was today hit by an unknown vehicle near Government Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu. Meanwhile in Roop Nagar area, two persons identified as Sikander Singh son of Mulkha Singh and Satveer Singh (35) son of Bihari Lal, both residents of Janipur, sustained injuries when a scooty on which they were travelling, was hit by an unknown vehicle.
All the injured persons were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment while the concerned police had taken cognizance in all the cases.
