JAMMU, Dec 27: The 7th Kyrougi and 4th Poomsae Poonch District Taekwondo Championship organised by Poonch District Taekwondo Association (PDTA) under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association supported by J&K Sports Council started today at Poonch Taekwondo Academy.
The championship is for Pee Wee, Sub Junior, Cadet, Junior and Senior, males and females.
Around 190 young budding boys and girls from five Taekwondo Clubs and different Taekwondo institutions are participating in this mega event.
The chief guest on the occasion was Taranpreet Kour, general secretary PDTA.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr Sarfraz Mir, Chairman Sir Syed Education Mission, Soch India; Jatinder Sharma, Head Master GMS Khorinar and Sarvjeet Singh, Wushu Coach.
Earlier, the welcomed address was delivered by Amit Sharma, joint secretary PDTA.
Speaking on the occasion, general secretary PDTA, Taranpreet Kour extended best wishes to all the participants.
The event is technically supervised by Rajinder Singh, Taekwondo Coach, National Referee from Department of Youth Services and Sports, Akarshit Sudan and District Referees—Toseef Tahir, Vishvas Sudan, Vishnu Raina, Qasim Hussain and Hassan.
In today’s matches, those who got all gold were Prabjot Singh, Garvin Gupta, Ranajay Gupta, Karnik Bhalla, Ishmeet Singh, Wasia Kouser, Sana Chouhan, Kritika Raina, Atiba Fatima and Maryiam ul Nisa while those who got silver were Mohd Irfan, Mohd Firdose and Nazma Kouser.
