Several deputations call on CM

JAMMU, Feb 4: Various deputations called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here today and conveyed their gratitude to him for creating new administrative units in their areas and helping to carry the Government to the doorsteps of people particularly living in remote and far-flung pockets in the State.
A deputation of Pahari Speaking people led by Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board, Kafeel-ur-Rehman and comprising former Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board, Mushtaq Ahmad Bukhari, Legislator Ravinder Sharma, former Speaker, Mirza Abdul Rashid, former Legislator Nasir Khan and other senior members of the community in their meeting with the Chief Minister thanked the Chief Minister for creation of new administrative units in remote and far-flung areas inhabited by Pahari speaking people.
A deputation from Keran comprising of Legislator Kafeel-ur-Rehman, Ghulam Haider Mir, Nasir Khan and other local leaders lauded the Chief Minister’s keenness and endeavour to focus on the equitable development of the State particularly towards uplifting and ameliorating the lot of people living in backward areas.
A deputation from Kupwara led by former Legislator and NC District President, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone also expressed the gratitude of the people of District Kupwara for creation of new administrative units in this backward district and paving the way for upgrading the process of development in the district.
A deputation of Jammu Paryatam Vikas Mandal (JPVM) led by its Chairman Ravi Mahajan and comprising of its President Kuldeep Wahi, Baldev Khullar, Ashiq Hussain, Inderjeet Khajuria and Pawan Gupta in his meeting with the Chief Minister requested for extending the Tax Holiday on Tourism Sector for current financial year as also the benefits accruing to tourism related units under the Amended Tourism Incentive Policy for further period of 10 years.
The deputation also requested for reduction in license fee for Hotels, Restaurants etc, development of Jammu region as pilgrim tourist destination, organizing of fairs and festivals in Jammu, launch of Car Cable Project, Mubarak Mandi, development of Ambaran Buddhist site near Akhnoor, incentives to tourism industry, development of adventure tourism and other packages for the growth and development of trade and tourism in Jammu.
Other deputations which included a deputation of J&K Political Migrants led by Mohi-ud-Din Shabnam also called on Chief Minister and brought to his notice various issues of their concern.
The Jammu and Kashmir Political Migrant Front (JKPMF) in its memorandum requested for rehabilitation of Political Migrants living in various security zones in Srinagar on the pattern of Jagti Township.
They also requested for improving economic and social conditions of the political migrants by providing special employment to their youth and considering political migrants as freedom fighters. They also sought welfare measures through Social Welfare Department for the members of the Front and enhancement of relief from Rs. 6600 to Rs. 15000 per month. They also sought insurance cover and soft loan assistance to the political migrants.
A deputation of PoK Refugees residing in various parts of Jammu division also called on Chief Minister and brought to his notice various issues concerning their welfare.
The refugees deputation led by Rajeev Chuni presented a memorandum to the Chief Minister requesting for a full package of relief including grant of Rs. 25 lakh to each PoK and Chamb displaced family and sought his intervention in getting this package through at the Union Government level.
The deputation also requested for recommendation to Ministry of Human Resources Development for seats in professional and technical colleges for the students of displaced persons from PoK and Chamb.
