UDHAMPUR, Aug 19: Several deputations today called on the Minister of State for Finance & Information Technology, Pawan Gupta in connection with the grievances of their respective areas.
A deputation of village Pakhlai under the leadership of Karnail Singh told the minister that road from Udhampur to Pakhlai was in worst condition and unsafe for traffic because of heavy rains.
Pawan Gupta immediately made a telephonic contact with XEN R&B Department and gave instructions for immediate repair of the said road. While addressing the deputation, Pawan Gupta disclosed that a project of Rs 10.51 crore under CRF for the construction of road from Udhampur to Pakhlai has been submitted with the concerned authorities of Government.
A deputation of village Salara, led by Vijay Kumar, demanded up-gradation of electrical transformer to avoid the problem of low voltage. Deputation of Karcha village, headed by Kulveer Singh, complained about irregular supply of food grains in Government Ration Depots. They also alleged that rice was not supplied to the Rattion Card holders from last two months.
Gupta assured the people that he would make all his efforts to make administration answerable in connection with public problems.
While addressing the people, Pawan Gupta said it was unfortunate that Udhampur is totally ignored from last 12 years for its overall development, especially in respect of road connectivity. Pawan said that from very first day of his present tenure as MLA as well as MOS in State Government, he made all his efforts to approve projects for the construction of roads and several projects are under pipe line for approval.
Raj Kumar Bucha, Raj Mohd Chandail, Navneet Gupta, Parkash, Suram Chand, Satya Devi, Ganesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Geeta Devi, Sushma Devi and Neelam Devi were prominent among others present in the meeting.
