JAMMU, July 23: Amit Sharma, Director of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Jammu today conducted a marathon introductory meeting with all Assistant Directors of Jammu Division wherein several important decisions were taken.
The meeting was conducted at Directorate office which was maiden meeting of new Director Amit Sharma and included several presentations relating to functioning of the department, district offices, finance and planning wings of the department.
Several officers were present in the meeting which included Joint Director Administration, Pawan Sharma, Deputy Director, Food & Rationing, Kulraj Singh, Deputy Director, Supplies, Jasrotia, Deputy Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal Zargar, FA/CAO Resham Deepika and others.
Director FCS&CA laid special emphasis on timely, transparent and efficient disbursement of food and civil supplies to general masses especially those located in far flung snow-bound belts like Padder, Dachchan, Marwah, Dudu Basantgarh, Mendhar, Loi Malhar, Duggan, etc with the usage of POS Machines, ePDS and Supply Chain Management System with advance stocking for winter months.
It was also decided that Enforcement Wing of the Jammu Directorate shall be strengthened and special squads shall be made to conduct surprise inspections in markets and even stores/depots being run by the department for physical verification from time to time all across Jammu Division.
Moreover, Amit Sharma mentioned about usage of technology like Webcams with Night Vision, GPS tracking with weight & quantity detection mechanism and physical mapping of locations for providing best services to public by the department in near future.
All the district officers expressed resolve to join together for systemic improvement in functioning of FCS&CA department under directions of new head of department and assured full co-operation to the new Director for overhauling the department’s reputation and public deliverance as per several strategic decisions taken during today’s meeting.
